Conveyancing Assistant

Our client is a leading law firm based in Barnsley with a long established reputation and extensive specialist expertise in the areas of Family Law, Property, Commercial, Wills, Trusts and Future Planning, Personal Injury, Employment and Dispute Resolution. Due to continued success they are now looking to recruit a Conveyancing Assistant to the team.THE ROLE:Taking instructions and opening new filesConducting initial client checks such as ID checks, credit checks and proof of affordability checksOverseeing sale and purchase transactionsConducting property searchesLiaising with mortgage provider/brokersOrganising and managing legal documentationHandling administrative support duties and managing filingPreparing client packs for sign off THE CANDIDATE:You will; Have good social skills with a clear communication style both orally (in person and on the telephone) and in writing;Have experience in dealing with members of the public face-to-face;Be IT literate and, after training, be able to operate a computer-based case management system;Be able to work under pressure as part of a small team;Be sensitive to cultural issues in a diverse community;Be able to work on your own initiative;Have good organisational skills.THE COMPANY:A leading law firm based in BarnsleyTHE CONSULTANCY:Edwards and Pearce acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
