Band 4 OT Assistant Practitioner – Orthopaedics and Surgical / Amputee Services
– Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. Prior experience as an OT assistant is essential.Responsibilities
Assessment of trauma and elective patients referred to Occupational TherapyTake equipment to patients’ homes and fit items (training will be given)Set up / provide follow up visits for prescribed equipmentMaintenance of stockLiaison with outside agencies and patients’ familiesTeach patients and their families how to use and fit the equipmentUndertaking falls assessmentsQualifications and Experience
Essential: GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and MathematicsKnowledge of anatomy/physiology; clinical knowledge of specialtyNVQ Level 3 or equivalentExperience as Band 3 Occupational Therapy assistant within an NHS settingExperience of working directly with patientsLeading and delivering exercise programs in a hospital settingWillingness to work as part of a teamDesirable criteria
Foundation Degree or equivalent in a related field or willingness to work towardsNegotiation skills, able to overcome barriers to exerciseOther relevant therapy interventions knowledge gained through training or experience in healthcareWhat we offer
