The Role: Reporting to the Assistant Highway Manager you will have a sound understanding of highway maintenance operations and legislation to help lead, manage and develop a team of local highway engineers and technicians to deliver the highway maintenance and enforcement operations of a busy Highways office. What you''ll do: Key to your role will be managing a team of front- line engineers dealing with highway issues. You will be able to communicate and liaise with a cross section of individuals and groups including elected members, district councils, borough councils, parishes and the public on a variety of highway-related issues/problems. You will also be required to collaborate closely with our internal and external operations partners to provide a joined-up service for our customers and identify, develop and implement service improvements. To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate an understanding of highway maintenance practices, a positive approach to partnership working and problem solving, be open to implementing change where required and be passionate about making a difference for local communities.
