OverviewCare Assistant role at

Bupa

– Beacher Hall, 42 Bath Road, Reading, RG1 6PG.

Beacher Hall offers 24-hour nursing care and support for adults 18+ with a range of needs, including complex needs and neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, respiratory conditions, Parkinson’s disease and acquired brain injuries. The home provides long-term, short-stay and rehabilitation care.

Beacher Hall is a converted listed building with a relaxing environment, well equipped for a range of individual care needs. There’s a bustling atmosphere, with plenty for residents to get involved. There is a physiotherapy gym, large landscaped gardens and an inviting lounge. These spaces are open to all, whether staying long-term or for a few months.

All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, with a TV and telephone point. Comfortable communal areas and lounges, plus the landscaped gardens, provide spaces where residents can socialise and relax with friends and family.

The home aims to ensure mealtimes are satisfying and nutritious, accounting for personal taste. Sensory art classes and music therapy are part of a thriving activities programme, and regular trips and outings are organised to help residents engage with community life.

Key Responsibilities

Support residents with a wide range of differing requirements from companionship to personal care.

Observe and manage residents'' behaviour with care and ensure to document and report changes in accordance with the required legislation.

Support residents'' nutrition and hydration needs, encouraging and assisting them to eat and drink according to their care plan.

Provide essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, both in groups and individually.

Maintain accurate care plans in line with regulatory and legal requirements.

What We''re Looking For

Motivation, positivity, and great interpersonal skills.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable: Previous experience in a care home environment or a Health and Social Care qualification.
