With over 21,000 employees across 23 locations, we support drug discovery through to manufacturing with fully integrated, high-quality services.About the Role: Pharmaron has opened a new Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) Laboratory at our Hoddesdon site. We are looking for an Associate Principal Scientist to join this new team. Oversee day-to-day operation of the laboratories, ensuring compliance with GCP, quality, and health and safety guidelines.Lead and coordinate activities of the lab team responsible for receipt and analysis of 14 C-labelled clinical samples by LSC, AMS, LC+AMS and LC-MS/MS.Understand and perform analytical techniques and procedures involved in AMS-enabled clinical studies through hands-on training.Assist in preparation and analysis of samples and data from clinical AMS-enabled studies, including mass balance, metabolite profiling and identification, and IVPK (absolute bioavailability).Ensure equipment is validated, calibrated, maintained and serviced per SOP.Review study data and prepare summaries and updates for internal and external reporting.Contribute to review and QC of study data packages and reports prior to submission to Quality Assurance as required.Address findings from QA audits and process inspections related to the area.Plan work to meet revenue recognition milestones on assigned studies and flag issues early.Collaborate with the AMS team and Pharmaron stakeholders, providing regular status updates to ensure project milestones are met.Participate in client visits and teleconferences as appropriate.Collaborate with global AMS and metabolism teams and lead continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives for the UK lab.Build a high-performing, client-focused team through coaching and mentoring junior members.Requirements
PhD, MSc or BSc (Hons) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics or related subjectExperience of managing or supervising a laboratory team within a GxP settingExperience coordinating equipment validation, maintenance and calibration and scheduling workload to meet timelinesExperience working in drug discovery and/or development projects with appreciation of related disciplinesExperience managing scientific teams, coaching and mentoringEffective written and verbal communication skills, including presenting scientific findings to colleagues and clientsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsFlexible mindset with initiativeHow to Apply
