An excellent opportunity has become available for a Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant in High Wycombe to join a supportive and inclusive school from September. This is an ideal role for graduates looking to build hands-on experience before pursuing a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or another child-focused profession.

As a Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant in High Wycombe, you''ll work closely with pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech and language needs, and a range of additional learning needs. You''ll provide classroom support, deliver targeted one-to-one interventions, and help create an environment where every child can develop confidence.

Working alongside experienced teachers and SEN professionals, you''ll gain practical experience that will strengthen your understanding of child development, behaviour, and inclusive education while making a meaningful difference every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN and additional learning needs.
  • Assist teachers with planning engaging, differentiated learning activities.
  • Encourage pupils'' social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Support behaviour management strategies and personalised learning plans.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, therapists, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment.

Candidate Requirements

  • A degree in Psychology or a related subject.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and speech and language needs is beneficial.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
