Support Worker

Job Purpose:As a Support Worker in a supported living setting for care leavers (aged 16-25), you will provide emotional, practical, and social support to young people transitioning from care to independent living. You will empower them to develop essential life skills, build confidence, and access education, employment, and training opportunities while ensuring their well-being and safety.Key Responsibilities:1. Support and Guidance:Assist care leavers in developing independence and life skills, including budgeting, cooking, and maintaining a clean home.Provide emotional support, encouragement, and mentoring to build self-esteem and resilience.Support young people in accessing education, training, and employment opportunities.Help with managing appointments, benefits, and tenancy responsibilities.Advocate for young people and ensure their voices are heard in decision-making processes.2. Safeguarding and Well-being:Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.Identify and report safeguarding concerns following company policies and procedures.Work in partnership with social workers, mental health services, and other professionals to ensure young people''s well-being.Support young people with managing relationships, self-care, and mental health.3.
