Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE
Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week at Head Office (Near Taunton, Somerset)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm)
Our client is a well-established and growing civil engineering specialist with an excellent reputation across the South West. As part of their continued expansion, they are looking to recruit a Drainage Engineer to join their experienced design team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer looking to work on a diverse range of drainage and infrastructure projects, from initial feasibility through to detailed design and construction support. The Role
As a Drainage Engineer, you''ll play a key role in delivering innovative and compliant drainage solutions across domestic, commercial and municipal developments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing drainage strategies, feasibility studies and technical solutions for a variety of projects.
- Producing detailed drainage designs, including foul water, surface water, SuDS, pumped and gravity systems.
- Preparing construction drawings, technical reports, schematic layouts and designer risk assessments.
- Completing flood risk assessments and providing technical support throughout construction and commissioning.
- Producing setting-out information, construction details and clash detection analysis.
- Working closely with architects, structural engineers, geotechnical engineers and other design professionals to deliver coordinated solutions.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, assisting with project scoping, fee proposals and progress reporting.
- Preparing and coordinating statutory submissions, including planning applications, environmental permits and other regulatory approvals.
- Using MicroDrainage and AutoCAD to develop network models and drainage designs.
- Experience in drainage design within a civil engineering, infrastructure or consultancy environment.
- Strong knowledge of foul and surface water drainage systems, SuDS and flood risk principles.
- Experience using MicroDrainage and AutoCAD.
- A good understanding of UK drainage standards and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative design team.
- Salary of up to £50,000, depending on experience.
- Hybrid working (minimum three days per week in the office).
