Polo Managing Agency is seeking a detail-oriented
Underwriting Oversight and Control Administrator
to support the delivery and oversight of our underwriting framework, as well as the onboarding of new syndicates. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective operation of our underwriting governance and control processes.Responsibilities
To report to the Head of Underwriting Oversight and Onboarding and assist in all matters relating to the delivery of the managing agency underwriting oversight and controls framework and onboarding of new syndicates into the framework.To assist across the Underwriting Management Team of all BAU activities including but not limited to tracking exception reporting to completion, tracking Independent Expert Review findings and completion of actions, tracking File Review findings and completion of actions, keeping a log of DQ checks for the PMA DoU and PMA COO, logging PBQA and sanctions checking and ensuring the closure of any resulting actions, ensuring Peer Review actions are logged and closed to completion, and ensuring internal and external audit actions are logged and closed to completion.To assist across the Underwriting Management Team in the gathering and presentation of MI for the Underwriting Committee and the Syndicate Management Committees packs.To assist across the Underwriting Management Team in ensuring BAU activity is on track for completion and delivery.To keep a log of all referrals and maintain electronic files.To take responsibility for the recording of and timely closure of actions arising from team meetings.To maintain record keeping and action logs of syndicate related activities to support and evidence oversight.To assist in the maintenance of the Underwriting Framework.To provide support to the Underwriting Management Team in maintaining compliance with Lloyd’s Principle for Doing Business and any applicable UK or International statutory regulatory obligations as required by their roles.To conduct ad hoc reviews and projects as required.Qualifications and Skills
Some experience in the Lloyd’s or Company market in an underwriting support function role preferable but not essential.Self-motivated and proactive.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple deadlines.High level of IT skills including Excel.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively and establish strong relationships.ACII qualified or looking to progress towards qualification.Some understanding of underwriting oversight and controls preferable.May have previous experience of working in a Managing Agent or on the Company Market.Values
