Teaching Assistant andndash; (Autism) Milton Keynes Full or Part-Time Immediate Start

The School:
Supply Desk is delighted to be working with a well-rated school in the Milton Keynes area that prides itself on providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for children, allowing them to succeed to the best of their ability, no matter what challenges they may face. The school is looking for additional support for some of its students and is seeking an excellent support staff member with experience and/or qualifications in working with children with Autism.

The role will require the following responsibilities:

• 
  

  Collaborating with the teacher and assisting with creating and delivering activities.

• 
  

  Developing a holistic approach to meeting studentsandrsquo; needs by delivering action plans and strategies to enable learners to make good progress.

• 
  

  Assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans, Risk Assessments, Personal Care, and Therapy Care programmes for a designated group.

• 
  

  Working with teachers, other support staff, families, and external agencies to provide the best support possible.

• 
  

  Establishing therapeutic relationships with students and interacting with them according to individual needs.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

• 
  

  Previous experience working with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) children or a desire to work with ASC children.

• 
  

  Good knowledge of SEN and a passion for development.

• 
  

  Able to commit to working fixed days andndash; full or part-time.

• 
  

  NVQ in Childcare and Education or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (desirable).

• 
  

  Experience in residential support work, care, or support work in schools (preferred).

• 
  

  Personal experience of ASC in a school or personal setting.

• 
  

  Team Teach, TEACCH, or positive handling training (advantageous).

• 
  

  Experience in developing independence in young people.

• 
  

  Experience in supporting social and emotional development.

• 
  

  A clear and valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
