This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-impact, long-term UK Government programme, shaping the foundations of a critical national initiative. As part of the Prime contractor organisation, you''ll help design and deliver complex data solutions that will influence national priorities for years to come. The Data Architect will be a key player in supporting the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable data solutions. Working closely with technical specialists, external partners, and customer teams, you will create data architectures that meet complex business requirements and drive the programme forward.Leading the creation of secure, automated data architectures that maximise the reuse of existing components.Writing high- and low-level technical specifications and documentation.Providing technical leadership and guidance to developers and data engineers.The ideal candidate will have significant experience in designing and delivering data solutions, particularly within cloud environments such as AWS or Microsoft Azure. You will be comfortable working in complex environments and have a deep understanding of data governance, security, and compliance. You''ll also have a proven ability to create and maintain high-quality technical documentation and manage the integration of various data systems.Strong experience designing secure data architectures in cloud environments (preferably AWS or Azure).Hands-on experience with database technologies such as MySQL, Oracle, and Amazon Redshift.Knowledge of BI and analytics tools like Power BI, Pentaho, ElasticSearch, Solr, or Apache Kafka.Python expertise, especially with data libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.Familiarity with ETL tools and data pipeline orchestration.Exposure to data science tools like SAS or Posit.Experience in performance-critical environments, particularly with large-scale data platforms.Employment type
