Mechanical Fitter Location: Sheffield, S20Pay Rate: £18.00 per hourHours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, daysJob Type: PermanentJob Description We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Sheffield.The company specialises in the manufacture of industrial machinery and equipment, supplying engineered solutions to a range of commercial and industrial customers. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Mechanical Fitter to join a busy workshop team, working on the assembly and construction of new machinery from start to finish.The role will involve fitting mechanical components, assembling equipment and working from engineering drawings to ensure machinery is built accurately and to the required specifications.Key Responsibilities Assemble and build new industrial machinery and equipment. Carry out mechanical fitting and assembly of machine components and sub-assemblies. Fit bearings, shafts, rollers, gearboxes, motors, hydraulic cylinders and drive systems. Assemble hydraulic systems, pipework and associated mechanical components. Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions. Use hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment to complete mechanical assembly work. Measure, align and fit components to ensure accurate assembly and correct operation.
