We''re looking for a skilled and experienced CNC Turner to join our high-performance precision manufacturing team in Reading. This role is ideal for a machinist who specialises in CNC lathes and turning centres, with a passion for quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement. You''ll be responsible for producing complex turned components to exacting standards, often working to tight tolerances and lead times.Key Responsibilities:Set, operate, and adjust CNC lathes to machine precision componentsRead and interpret engineering drawings and technical specificationsLoad and inspect tooling, set tool offsets, and edit CNC programs at the machineCarry out first-off, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, gauges, CMMs)Ensure all work meets strict quality and dimensional tolerancesDeburr and finish components as requiredWork to production schedules and optimise cycle times without compromising qualitySupport sub-assembly processes when necessaryMaintain clean, organised workstations and follow health and safety practicesParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives including lean, 5S, and kaizenAssist in mentoring junior machinists and apprenticesWhat We''re Looking For:Recognised engineering apprenticeship or minimum 10 years'' experience in a CNC turning roleExpert knowledge of CNC lathes (Fanuc, Mazatrol, or similar control systems)Solid understanding of metal cutting principles and machining best practicesStrong ability to work ..... full job details .....
