Gutsy Gals Inspire MeThis is a new opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join an established Occupational Therapy team working across inpatient and community learning disability services. The post holder will work within the specialist inpatient service (Najurally Centre) 22.5 hours a week. These hours can be worked flexibly depending on the needs of the service. 15 hours will be worked in the Community Team for Adults with a Learning Disability based at Waddiloves Health Centre in Bradford, working across Bradford, Craven and Keighley. This is a full-time post with an option for flexible working.Main duties of the job: The team are passionate about delivering high quality care for adults who require specialist health support due to their complex needs. This includes physical, mental health, sensory, communication, or behavioural impairments. The post is well supported by an Occupational Therapy Team and there is support from a part time Band 7 within the inpatient services. The Learning Disability Teams are friendly and supportive. The role and skills of an Occupational Therapist are valued, and the job provides the opportunity to use all your OT core skills. The OT role sits within a full multidisciplinary team with opportunities to work alongside all professionals. There are excellent CPD opportunities for ongoing professional development. Work across inpatient and community learning disability services as part of a multidisciplinary team.Deliver high quality care for adults with learning disabilities who have complex needs (physical, mental health, sensory, communication, or behavioural impairments).Utilise OT core skills and collaborate with other professionals to support client independence and participation.Engage in ongoing CPD and professional development opportunities.Support and supervise students as part of the role.Qualifications
Essential
Degree or equivalent pre-registration award in occupational therapyState registered with the Health Professions CouncilShort specialist course(s) with relevance to the specialist clinical areaPost registration experienceExperience of working in learning disability services and/or with other vulnerable groupsExperience supervising studentsDesirable
Experience in the provision of specialist equipment to promote independence and occupational participationIn patient mental health experienceRight to Work
