HGV Technician
Our client is a well-known and reputable HGV dealership with several depots across Scotland. Currently they are looking for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / HGV Mechanic for their Edinburgh depot.Hours of work: Early / late shift pattern with alternate SaturdaysJob PurposeTo inspect, service, maintain, and repair Heavy Goods Vehicles to ensure they are safe, roadworthy, and compliant with legal and company standards.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and trailersDiagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faultsConduct MOT preparations and inspectionsRepair or replace defective parts, components, or systemsComplete all job cards, service sheets, and compliance documentation accuratelyEnsure all work meets DVSA, manufacturer, and company standardsRespond to vehicle breakdowns and roadside repairs when requiredMaintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environmentAdhere to health and safety regulations at all timesLiaise with workshop controllers, fleet managers, and parts departmentsSkills and ExperienceProven experience as an HGV Technician or similar roleStrong fault-finding and diagnostic skillsKnowledge of HGV systems (engines, gearboxes, brakes, electrics, air systems)Ability to work independently and as part of a teamGood time management and attention to detailIT literacy for diagnostic tools and job recordsQualifications and RequirementsLevel 3 NVQ / City and Guilds in Heavy Vehicle ..... full job details .....
