Overview

As part of Elavon, a wholly owned subsidiary of U.S. Bank, the role supports building platforms and ecosystems to help customers achieve their financial goals. The position is titled Head of Emerging Verticals EU and Ireland and reports to the Head of Emerging Verticals. The purpose of the role is to execute the European Enterprise Emerging Verticals strategy, drive growth of the existing portfolio and specific MCCs within strategic plans, and lead Direct Sales Business Development and Direct customer Relationship Management in the vertical and geography to deliver revenue goals while upholding U.S. Bank core values and behaviors.Responsibilities

Support the design, implementation and delivery of the vertical MCC strategies to provide sustainable growth and revenue diversification.Develop strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, collaborate on wider company strategies, and assist in prioritising technology and resources to deliver the vertical strategy.Align with shared service support teams to profile requirements that optimise vertical opportunities.Act as an internal and external trusted thought leader, providing segment expertise to drive innovation and change based on industry trends and customer insight.Lead the team to deliver revenue targets while promoting US Bank core values, behaviors and policies.Collaborate with the vertical management team to distribute planning and revenue targets and report progress on key initiatives.Support continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of revenue generation and retention activities.Support key customer engagement and act as an escalation point for key decision making and prioritisation of revenue attainment.Develop the team through coaching, methodology and training in line with internal talent development guidance.Reporting

Lead the Emerging Vertical team to achieve core objectives and financial goals using a performance-focused approach.Support execution of short-term and long-term vertical strategies aligned with growth objectives.Engage across the business via working groups to contribute to the Emerging enterprise team goals and broader company success.Support and align on key vertical initiatives that drive strategic growth, potentially involving complex matrix management.Competencies

Understand the vertical landscape and payment requirements across Emerging Verticals MCC areas.Design, develop, implement and deliver a vertical growth strategy.Lead and motivate teams in a matrix organization across geographies.Manage change in large, complex transformations.Prioritise in line with US Bank core values.Represent the company and vertical team to drive executive influence and decision making.Proven experience in managing sales and partnerships to deliver revenue goals.Experience in new business sales or customer retention with deep understanding of sales cycles or retention needs.Collaborate cross-functionally and strengthen relationships with internal stakeholders.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of persuasive oral and written communication.Identify root causes and proactively problem-solve to drive action.Act as an ambassador of US Bank’s core values; communicate decisions and processes effectively.Ability to analyse data and present insights that drive action.Recruit, develop and build a high-achieving team.Develop business cases and champion opportunities with quantifiable benefits.Willingness to invest time in professional self-development.Qualifications

5+ years of experience in the payment industry.Experience of leadership and matrix management.Proven experience of sales or relationship management as an individual contributor.Proven experience supporting and executing strategic revenue growth plans.Clear understanding of working within a regulated environment and its requirements.Control Function Disclosure
