Our client is a family-run utility and civil engineering contractor who has experienced significant growth in the last decade, achieved through consistently delivering high-quality work on behalf of their strong client base. Your new role Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will play an important role in delivering accurate and timely financial information across the business. You will provide meaningful insight to senior stakeholders, support effective decision-making and help improve overall business performance and profitability. Prepare and post month-end journals within agreed deadlines Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations Prepare and process accruals and prepayments Investigate variances and unusual cost trends, escalating key findings where appropriate Prepare monthly and quarterly VAT returns in line with internal and HMRC deadlines Reconcile financial information against costing reports Review and validate subcontractor payments before processing Support purchase ledger and sales ledger activities when required Produce ad hoc financial reports and analysis to identify trends, patterns ..... full job details .....
