Hometracks market-leading property data sets, valuation models, and risk insights are delivered via our suite of B2B SaaS applications for mortgage lenders, brokers, and more. Our services are mission-critical to the UKs top banks, automating their mortgage offers. Theyre used daily by home builders, mortgage brokers, local councils, and more to make informed property purchasing decisions.Weve migrated key legacy SQL Server/SSIS pipelines to PySpark and Databricks, and were in the home stretch of our modernisation programme. Now were looking to unlock the power of our disparate data, and make it accessible and reusable across our teams and products, and enable our customers to self-serve. What were looking for in a Head of Data Engineering:Collaborative, across product teams, and functions (Data Science, Analytics, Legal, Software, etc)A pragmatist, who can align multiple product workstreams towards the coherent vision of a unified high quality, high trust data platform to support production services, including dashboards, new product delivery, analytics and data science developmentComfortable working to high standards of compliance (inc ISO-27001, GDPR), Data Governance, and Information SecurityExperienced in migrating from SQL based data architectures to modern Data Engineering technologies, using PySpark, Databricks, Terraform, and PandasSomeone able to explore, analyse and understand our data and its usesIdeally experienced in a multi-cloud environment (Databricks across Azure and AWS) solving networking, security, and best practice challengesA product mindset, helping our product teams and customers solve data problemsAll qualified applicants will be considered for employment regardless of ethnicity, colour, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, age, disability, neurodiversity, family or parental status, or time unemployed.
