Head Dental Nurse – ManchesterJoin Life at Smart Dental Care as Head Dental Nurse, leading the nursing team with a patient-first approach and contributing to clinical excellence.Responsibilities

Clinical and Leadership ResponsibilitiesAssist the dentist and hygienists during clinical procedures, delivering safe, effective chairside supportMaintain and oversee infection control and sterilisation protocols, ensuring compliance and CQC standardsSupervise decontamination processes and cleanliness of the clinical environmentLead on clinical governance, including regular practice audits and CQC complianceAdministrative and Team ManagementMentor and manage the dental nursing team, including inductions, performance supervision, and trainingCoordinate staff rotas and ensure adequate coverage for clinic sessions with the Practice ManagerOversee stock levels, equipment maintenance, and ordering of consumablesAssist the Practice Manager in the smooth operational running, recruitment, and process implementationPatient and Quality FocusSupport patient care throughout the visit, ensuring comfort, reassurance, and high standards of serviceProvide oral health education and guidance to patients, fostering positive, lasting experiencesWhat We’re Looking For

Active registration with the General Dental Council (GDC)At least 2+ years’ experience in dental nursing, with evidence of leadership or enhanced responsibilitiesStrong knowledge of compliance and clinical governance principlesExcellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skillsProactive, supportive, and resilient attitude, with a passion for team development and quality careSchedule and Hours
