Quantity Surveyor – Tier One Main Contractor

A leading Tier One Main Contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of high-profile construction projects valued up to £65m across a range of sectors.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account, working closely with operational teams to ensure schemes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the effective commercial management of one or more construction projects, ensuring financial performance is maximised while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the commercial aspects of projects from inception through to final account.
• Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment, and variations.
• Producing accurate cost forecasts, budgets, and monthly CVR reports.
• Procuring and managing subcontractor packages.
• Assessing, negotiating, and agreeing subcontractor accounts.
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities. .

About You

We are looking for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in main contracting and a proven ability to manage projects independently.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a Main Contractor environment.
• Experience managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Good knowledge of standard forms of contract, including JCT.
• Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
