Shift Vent - Mechanical Engineer

OverviewOur Building Services team are looking for a Mechanical Engineer on Shift to join the team on-site at one of our projects in London. The purpose of the role will be to carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and mechanical repairs on ventilation plant and other mechanical equipment at the Critical site, ensuring all works are completed to a high standard. The successful candidate will be working as part of a dedicated ventilation maintenance team, contributing to the efficient and safe operation of critical ventilation systems within a hospital environment. This is a continental shift pattern role, requiring flexibility and a commitment to maintaining 24/7 operational readiness.

Responsibilities
To perform repairs and replacements to mechanical and ventilation assets to ensure continuation of service.
To assist the ventilation work coordinator delivering the ventilation PPM work and plant repairs.
To be aware of Health and Safety policies and statutory requirements and to provide advice as appropriate
To advise the ventilation work coordinator / AP on the effectiveness of the ventilation PPM program - additions, deletions or alterations and assist in the completion of relevant documentation/reports.
To help and assist the ventilation work coordinator / AP with any enquiries or problems that may occur in relation to the ventilation PPM programme.
To ensure good communications exist between the ventilation maintenance team and other members of the MandE discipline.
Qualifications
Knowledge of mechanical systems / equipment qualified to minimum level of NVQ 3.
Knowledge of mechanical and ventilation plant acquired through experience and training courses in the specialised areas - mechanical, ventilation and L8 etc would be advantageous
Knowledge of building services assets with at least 5 years’ experience in maintenance of plant and equipment.
A wide understanding of mechanical maintenance and repair techniques and the use of specialist tooling for unplanned failures and plant re-builds.
Knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
Basic computer skills are required.
