As Design Engineer, responsibilities will include;Designing and developing sustainable products, components, and systems that align with the company''s environmental and customer-focused goals.Leading product validation and testing to ensure performance, safety, and reliability.Staying ahead of industry trends and integrating emerging technologies and practices into design processes.Ensuring all designs comply with relevant regulations and meet required performance standards.Creating comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including detailed drawings and engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs).Delivering cost-effective and functionally sound design solutions within project constraints.Supporting the wider engineering team with additional tasks as needed. Key skills needed for the Design Engineer:A degree in Mechanical Engineering, a BTEC Higher National Certificate (or equivalent), or completion of an engineering apprenticeship.Proven ability to solve complex problems and develop sustainable design solutions.Experience working with plastic materials in product design.Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.Ability to produce clear, concise technical reports.
