Long Term Futures is seeking a calm, confident and resilient Behaviour Mentor to support a Year 4 pupil with behavioural and emotional needs in a supportive primary school in Waltham Forest.
This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in behaviour management or SEMH support, who can provide clear structure, consistent boundaries and a positive, steady presence throughout the school day.
About the Role
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and pastoral team, your responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 behaviour support for a Year 4 pupil
* Supporting emotional regulation using calm, consistent and trauma-informed approaches
* Managing challenging behaviour using de-escalation strategies
* Helping the pupil maintain focus, follow routines and meet expectations
* Acting as a positive role model and trusted adult
* Supporting re-engagement with learning following dysregulation
* Working collaboratively with staff to implement behaviour plans
This is a hands-on role requiring resilience, patience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
* Calm, confident and consistent approach
* Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
* Proactive and committed to a long-term role
