The Role
As a Mechanical Technician, you will be a key member of the workshop team, ensuring vehicles are maintained and repaired to the highest standards. Your duties will include:
- Carrying out general servicing on both passenger and commercial vehicles
- Tyre fitting and replacement across a range of vehicle types
- Performing air conditioning servicing and repairs
- Using diagnostic tools and equipment for fault finding, electrical testing, and vehicle diagnostics
- Completing Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI)
- Conducting detailed vehicle inspections and road tests
- Carrying out repairs in line with approved manufacturer methods
- Completing warranty repairs in compliance with manufacturer standards
- Accurately recording all work undertaken in line with company procedures
- Preparing vehicles for final quality control, including stripping/refitting, panel repairs, masking, priming, painting, and oven rectification where required
- Effectively planning and managing workload to meet deadlines and maintain efficiency
- Supporting fellow technicians and assisting with the training of new team members
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent experience)
- A proactive, positive attitude and a strong work ethic
- A professional approach, with excellent timekeeping and courtesy
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to unexpected situations
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused mindset
