Elective Home Education Officer Children''s ServicesNormanton 22/09/2025 3 months initially Monday to Friday, 9am 4.30pm, 37 hrs/week Hybrid will require the post holder to travel to other sites, schools, and family homes within the District as well as some virtual working At the point of referral, to meet with family, school and pupil when parents have decided they would like to Electively Home Educate to see if an agreement can be reached for the child to remain in school. Should it be that the family still want to Electively Home Educate then there would be discussion with the cluster Education Welfare Officer regarding management of the case. This would also involve RAG rating of all cases and researching any background information and then recording on the system database. Work in conjunction with Education Welfare Officers in assisting with elective home education Manage a caseload of electively home educated pupils, ensuring every child receives a suitable education Maintain Wakefield Education Welfare Service register for EHE pupils Adopting a whole family approach, in order to reduce risk and improving outcomes for children Liaise with EHE parents/carers, receiving reports of work undertaken Participate in assessments Establish the reason for absences having an awareness and recognition of the needs of individual family s Liaise with parents and carers through giving advice and guidance then referring to early help or social services where appropriate when there ..... full job details .....
