Strategic Sales Manager (Banking/Fintech)

What the role entails

Identify, prospect, and secure new logo clients within mid-sized banks, fintechs, digital lenders, and emerging financial service providers.

Drive full ownership of the sales lifecycle – from pipeline development to contract closure.

Engage C-level and senior stakeholders (e.g. CIOs, CDOs, Heads of Risk, Transformation, and Analytics) to position EXL’s AI, analytics, and digital capabilities.

Collaborate with internal teams including domain SMEs, solution architects, and delivery leads to tailor proposals that meet client needs.

Develop go-to-market strategies aligned to target segments, market trends, and emerging client challenges.

Build brand visibility and awareness for EXL’s Banking Analytics offerings in the UK market.

Stay current with the financial services landscape, regulatory changes, fintech innovations, and competitor activities.

Experience and background required

10+ years in enterprise sales, strategic account development, or new business acquisition in financial services or fintech.

Strong track record of winning new logos and consistently exceeding sales targets.

Experience selling data, analytics, AI, digital transformation, or consulting-led solutions.

Deep understanding of the UK banking and fintech landscape, including market dynamics and regulatory environment.

Existing relationships within target accounts preferred (e.g. mid-sized banks, fintech disruptors).

Commercially driven, highly autonomous, and skilled in solution-based selling.

Strong communication and presentation skills with credibility at C-suite level.
