We are currently seeking a Principal/Senior HV Plant Engineer in our Energy Team. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of projects across various technical disciplines with clients across the country. These projects can include HVDC, interconnectors, windfarms, substations, OHL, geotechnical solutions, building design, protection systems, LVAC, FEED, new builds, refurbishment works, connections schemes, etc.

The role is to work as part of the HV team for electrical substation design projects. You will be working closely with our other disciplines and supporting/leading FEED design and detailed design for substation refurbishment/extensions and new-build projects. Ideally you will have experience in working with key TandD clients in the UK.

You will be joining a growing and collaborative team, working in partnership with a variety of clients to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to industry-wide efficiency and environmental challenges. We have ambitious growth plans and as a result there are lots of great development opportunities within our teams. This is an opportunity to play an important part in the U.K. energy transition.

About You

Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related technical field).

Experience as HV Substation / Primary Plant Design Engineer with design and specification production for HV Substation plant electrical power systems and components; understanding of Protection and Control (PandC) aspects is preferable.

Proactive with knowledge of the electricity transmission and distribution industry; ability to coach and work within the energy team; collaborative contributor.

Willing to learn; Stantec will develop, provide support and training to the right people; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related technical field (for candidates from other backgrounds).
