The Role:
We are looking for compassionate and dedicatedandnbsp;Care Assistantsandnbsp;to join our team, providing essential support to students in aandnbsp;Special Educational Needs (SEN) Schoolandnbsp;in Hemel Hempstead. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs. Experience in care or education is beneficial but not essential; a positive and empathetic attitude is what truly matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students withandnbsp;personal care needs, including dressing, feeding, and hygiene.
- Assisting with classroom activities to foster engagement and learning.
- Building positive relationships to provideandnbsp;emotional and social supportandnbsp;to students.
- Managing and de-escalatingandnbsp;challenging behavioursandnbsp;in a calm and professional manner.
- Promoting independence by helping students develop life skills.
- Maintaining accurate records of care and progress and liaising with teaching staff and parents.
- Collaborating with the school team to deliver tailored,andnbsp;person-centred supportandnbsp;for each student.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experienceandnbsp;in care, education, or supporting individuals with additional needs (preferred but not essential).
- Aandnbsp;caring and empathetic approachandnbsp;to working with young people.
- Confidence in managing behaviours that challenge or supporting individuals with complex needs.
- Comfortable providingandnbsp;personal careandnbsp;to children or young people.
- Flexibility to commit to shifts and adapt to the school''s needs.
- A valid, clearandnbsp;DBS checkandnbsp;(or willingness to obtain one).
