Senior Hydraulics Engineer

The Opportunity

We''re recruiting for an experienced Senior Hydraulics Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Cambridgeshire.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hydraulic systems specialist to play a key role in the design, development and support of innovative hydraulic solutions from concept through to manufacture, testing and installation. Working closely with the Head of Engineering, you''ll have the chance to influence product development, solve complex technical challenges and contribute to the delivery of high-quality engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop hydraulic systems, circuits and fluid power solutions.
• Produce hydraulic schematics, engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Carry out technical calculations and system performance assessments.
• Support installation, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting activities.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety requirements and customer specifications.
• Investigate and resolve hydraulic system issues through effective root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering, production and supply chain teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Provide ongoing technical support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What We''re Looking For

• Degree-qualified engineer or equivalent experience within hydraulics, fluid power or a related discipline.
• Proven experience designing and supporting hydraulic systems.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic components, circuits and fluid power principles.
• Ability to read and create hydraulic schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience using CAD and engineering software.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
