BASIC SALARY: Up to £40,000

JOB DESCRIPTION: Buyer
 
As our Buyer, you''ll take responsibility for purchasing resale products, ensuring the business has the right stock at the right time and at the best possible commercial value. Working alongside the Commercial Director and Sales team, you''ll negotiate with suppliers, monitor performance and help drive improvements across the purchasing function. This is a varied position offering genuine autonomy within a successful manufacturing business with an international customer base. You will:
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Buyer
 
· Purchasing resale products to ensure stock availability while controlling costs.
· Building long-term supplier relationships and negotiating competitive pricing and commercial agreements.
· Monitoring supplier performance across cost, quality and delivery.
· Managing stock levels and supporting forecasting to minimise shortages and excess inventory.
· Producing reports on purchasing performance, margins and cost savings.
· Identifying opportunities to improve purchasing processes and supply chain efficiency.
· Working closely with Sales and internal stakeholders to support customer demand.
 
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Buyer
 
You''ll already have experience within a buying, purchasing or procurement role and enjoy working in a fast-paced commercial environment.
 
You''ll ideally have:
· Experience as a Buyer, Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Executive, Procurement Officer, Procurement Buyer or Supply Chain Buyer.
· Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
· Commercial awareness with an understanding of margins and stock control.
· Experience analysing purchasing data and performance reports.
· Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Knowledge of import/export processes or international logistics would be an advantage but isn''t essential.
