Principal Mechanical Engineer- Bristol/Newbury

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Principal Mechanical Engineer with a background in the nuclear sector to be engaged on a permanent basis in Reading, Bristol, Warrington, Preston or Leicester with hybrid/remote working.Responsibilities
Promote effective co-operation across Engineering and other functional teamsAssist in effective management of the customer, including liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers, to aid the development of business, resolution of technical and delivery issues, and such that the customer is fully briefed and informed of progressEnsure procedures, codes and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activitiesEnsure task and project risks are communicated and managed appropriatelyProduce, review and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation and technical reports as assignedAssessing the implications of changes, concessions and queriesMaintaining the engineering configuration, ensuring the overall design intent and integrity is maintained throughout design lifecycleEvaluate technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and/or solutions, including process improvementsProvide support to the Project Manager for the planning, control and delivery of tasks and projectsMake engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authorityAct as Technical Authority or Engineering Lead when authorised to do so.Exercise care for own health and safety and that of others as defined by Health and Safety legislation, adhere to endorsed Company policy, procedures and delegations (e.g. Health and Safety, Diversity and Inclusion, Performance and Development Reviews and Finance etc.)Essential experience
Nuclear experience is not a necessity, we welcome applications from all engineering backgrounds.You are someone who owns and delivers, who champions high performance and is courageous to challenge the status quo.Knowledge of CAD tools and General Engineering Drawing Practice.Ability to build strong and influential relationships with key stakeholders.Experience leading a team.Qualifications
