As our
Dev Lead , you will play a key role in driving day-to-day delivery and technical excellence across our engineering team. You’ll stay hands-on, contributing to the codebase, while guiding the team on architecture decisions, code quality, and process discipline. You’ll collaborate with the Engineering Manager to ensure clarity, resolve blockers quickly, and keep sprints on track without taking on formal people management responsibilities.Responsibilities
Architecture and Development: Design and implement features using ReactJS (frontend) and Node.js/TypeScript (backend).Develop microservices within a hexagonal architecture, integrating with AI APIs and data pipelines.Optimize backend performance with MongoDB and DynamoDB.AI Integration: Work with OpenAI, Azure AI, Vertex AI models to deliver NLP and data-driven insights.Support AI pipelines for qualitative and quantitative research automation.Cloud and DevOps: Deploy, scale, and monitor services using AWS ECS, Kubernetes, Istio.Ensure observability and performance monitoring using Grafana.Technical Leadership: Lead by example with hands-on coding (-40–50% of your time).Review pull requests and uphold coding standards.Provide technical guidance on implementation details and architecture patterns.Pair-program and mentor developers informally to raise code quality and velocity.Security and Reliability: Implement best practices for API security, data protection, and fault tolerance.Ensure compliance with data privacy standards (GDPR, ISO).Requirements
5+ years of professional experience in full-stack development.Strong expertise in ReactJS, TypeScript, Node.js.Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.Solid background in databases: both SQL/NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB).Experience deploying scalable systems in AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudFormation).Knowledge of Kubernetes (K8s) and Istio service mesh.Familiarity with Grafana or similar monitoring tools.Experience integrating with AI/ML APIs (OpenAI, Azure AI, Vertex AI).Strong understanding of hexagonal architecture principles.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and mentorship skills.Bonus Points
Background in marketing research, UX testing, or consumer insights platforms.Experience with event streaming (Kafka, Kinesis).Hands-on experience with data pipelines and ETL processes.Knowledge of predictive analytics and experimentation frameworks.Why Work for Bolt Insight?
