Financial Controller - £85K + Bens

Our client, a highly respected multi-award-winning, boutique Asset Manager is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join the Finance team. Our client is looking for a fully qualified Accountant with experience within the Financial Services arena to join a well established team and take responsibility for all financial control activities across the business.

Roles and Responsibilities

Managing day-to-day finance operations with a team of two direct reports.Performing all related accounting functions required to maintain the general ledger in compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS and company policy and procedures.Analytical review and analysis of financial data and generating monthly trend reports and balance sheet reconciliations ensuring financial statement accuracy and investigating variances.Monitor and manage financial risks in line with compliance and regulations.Complete all HMRC filings and returns including corporation taxes and VAT in accordance with tax policy. Ad-hoc liaison with group tax team and HMRC on enquiries arising.Preparation of formal year end statutory accounts - coordinating annual external audit activities within the business. and liaising with external auditors.Oversight of bank reconciliations and maintenance of cash flow forecasts to ensure funds are available to meet obligations.Business partnering and working collaboratively on projects.Deputise for Head of Finance as appropriate.Regulatory reporting. Liquidity and capital requirements calculations, analysis and management under ICARA regime.Experience and Qualifications

The ideal profile is a qualified Accountant with a strong experience as a Financial Controller, with the ability to work independently and cover many tasks simultaneously.Analytical minded and excited by new challenges and creating new processes.Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and meet strict deadlines.Experience of working within Financial Services, ideally from within and Asset Manager.Experience in team management is desirable.ACA/ ACCA/CIMA qualified with a minimum of 5 years post qualified experience.To hear more about this exciting opportunity, please contact Alex Brown on 020 7847 8878 or email your CV to alex@meredithbrown.com
