Senior Power Systems EngineerOur client, a leading consultancy in the power distribution sector, is currently seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to join their team in Manchester. This permanent role involves executing the electro-mechanical design of substations, leading multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring solutions meet client requirements, legislation, and industry standards. The role spans a wide range of local and international projects for commercial, industrial, and utility clients.Key Responsibilities:Designing power systems up to 132 kV, with preference for experience up to 400 kVLeading the engineering of utility substations, including primary design and protection and control designDeveloping SCADA systems and creating single-line diagrams and substation layoutsSelecting and calculating CT/VTs, and managing auxiliary AC/DC power systemsPreparing technical reports and client documentationAssessing broader system contexts and understanding cross-disciplinary impactsMentoring and developing graduate engineers and consultantsJob Requirements:Experience in transmission and distribution engineeringStrong knowledge of UK electrical engineering standards and regulationsExtensive utility substation engineering experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding of SCADA system design and developmentExperience with substation safety and access trainingAbility to support business development and consulting activitiesExperience in installation and ..... full job details .....
