Financial Controller (UK & EMEA Subsidiary)

With an established financial infrastructure and systems built by our US accounting team, we are now seeking a hands-on UK Financial Controller to lead and build the finance function in the UK and EMEA region. This is a strategic, hands-on role that offers a unique opportunity to shape the financial and operational foundation of our EMEA business.About the RoleAs the first accounting hire in the UK, you will play a key role in managing the financial operations of the UK subsidiary and supporting broader EMEA activities. You’ll work closely with the US-based VP Corporate Controller and collaborate with teams across finance, legal, HR, and operations to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational effectiveness throughout the region.This is a highly visible role, with the opportunity to build and lead a local finance team as the company scales across EMEA.Key ResponsibilitiesFull Ownership of UK and EMEA Accounting Operations: Lead the day-to-day accounting and financial operations for the UK and other EMEA entities, including GL management, month-end close, and intercompany transactions.Statutory Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with UK and EMEA statutory requirements (e.g. VAT, payroll taxes, local filings). Manage annual audits and liaise with external advisors and auditors across multiple jurisdictions.Team Building: Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing UK/EMEA finance team in line with the company’s growth plans.Reporting and Consolidation: Produce timely, accurate financial reporting and provide input into group consolidations under US GAAP, UK GAAP, and IFRS.System and Process Development: Implement and refine scalable processes, systems, and controls across the region that align with global finance operations.Cross-Border Collaboration: Work closely with the US finance team to align policies, ensure data accuracy, and support group-wide financial goals and audits.About YouFully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong post-qualification experienceProgressive accounting experience, including managing finance operations across the UK and EMEAStrong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and familiarity with US GAAPDemonstrated ability to manage multi-country compliance, tax, and reporting requirements within the EMEA regionExperience working in a global finance organization or within a US-headquartered companyHands-on, adaptable, and experienced in building finance functions in high-growth or scale-up environmentsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills across functions and geographiesExperience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite)What We OfferCompetitive salary and benefitsChance to build and lead a regional finance functionCollaborative, international team cultureAbout us:
