Overview

Senior Project Engineering Leader at GE Vernova (Grid Solutions). Based in the Stafford area with hybrid working (circa 3 days per week) and reduced hours on Fridays. This role covers Northern Europe Grid Solutions projects (UK and Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland).Roles And Responsibilities

Instruct, supervise, co-ordinate and lead the engineering activities of the project in line with safety, quality, time delivery and cost criteria; act as the technical lead of electrical design and engineering for large energy projects, including preparing specifications, leading deviations and clarifications, attending FATs and SATs.Coordinate design activities, manage the project design budget, oversee the design change process, and coordinate engineering activities required to execute the project, whether in-house or via delivery partners; ensure technical coordination of the Grid Solutions Project.Issue consolidation of provisional drawing lists, manage global time schedules for concerned engineering activities, check coherency of links with procurement, construction, and commissioning, and follow up critical activities.Plan and manage delivery time of technical interfaces with work packages, establish interface exchange with partners, customers, and third-party contractors.Ensure on-time delivery of design to stakeholders with suitable quality, including Partner documents.Support Project Engineering Director and Project IandI Manager in engineering change management for large and complex projects.Lead and coordinate design teams with Primary, Secondary and Civil Designers;Monitor the engineering budget and identify potential savings; alert Project Manager to instances requiring additional budget.Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews according to EMH procedures and project strategy.Manage scope or design changes and prepare related claims and variation orders for approval by the Project Engineering Director or Project Manager.Analyse customer technical requirements, consolidate clause-by-clause analysis, ensure compliance through Technical Queries, and manage potential changes.Represent customer interests in design decisions as requested by the Project Manager; validate design throughout customer acceptance.Ensure proper management of project documentation status (approved, comments, resubmitted, rejected) for your work package.Prepare or review technical specifications and supplier documents to enable procurement of materials and detailed design, and ensure design effectiveness against contract requirements with a view to global cost optimization, particularly during basic design.Required Qualifications

Engineering degree or equivalent education/experienceExperience as lead engineer in an EPC-type environmentProven project technical management experience in a multi-disciplinary context with multiple interfaces and products from several countriesDesired Characteristics
