Quantity Surveyor

First People Solutions are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and highly respected contractor based in the Glasgow area.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong pipeline of work across civil engineering projects throughout Scotland.

The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced commercial team, supporting the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account while continuing to develop their career.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the commercial management with a range of projects
• Preparing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
• Managing subcontractor procurement, payments and accounts
• Producing cost reports and assisting with forecasting
• Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
• Supporting operational teams throughout project delivery
• Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships

Requirements:

• 2-6 years'' experience within a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or a related discipline
• Previous experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Strong commercial awareness and a willingness to develop
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Full UK driving licence
