This role has a starting salary of -34,660 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.
We are excited to be hiring a Fire Ground and Face Fit Technician to join Surrey Fire and Rescue Service. In this hands-on role, you will help ensure firefighters can train safely and effectively by supporting live fire training, maintaining specialist equipment and facilities, and carrying out face fit testing that is critical to operational readiness and firefighter safety.

About The Role
As a Fire Ground and Face Fit Technician, you will support the day-to-day delivery of Live Fire Training and Face Fit Testing for Surrey Fire and Rescue Service personnel. You will prepare training venues, PPE and equipment so that training can run safely and effectively, maintain appropriate levels of consumables, and support Live Fire Instructors during training delivery. You will also carry out Face Fit testing for Breathing Apparatus and Half Masks, maintain accurate records and produce reports using relevant computer systems. The role also includes ordering supplies, cleaning and preparing Live Fire facilities and equipment, and liaising with Property colleagues and contractors regarding maintenance of training facilities.
You will be based at Wray Park Training Centre in Reigate, although travel to other SFRS locations across Surrey will be required. The role involves some physical activity, including lifting and carrying equipment such as compressed air cylinders. A suitable level of physical fitness is therefore required and will be assessed by means of a medical questionnaire.
