What''s the role and what will you be doing?

As an associate consultant in our pensions administration department, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the day-to-day administration of defined benefit pension schemes for several of our clients. You will ensure that tasks outlined in our guide on the "day-to-day running of a client" are completed.

The role requires you to be well-organised, have an aptitude for figures, and great attention to detail. In return, you will be offered a structured career path and a full training programme.

Checking and reviewing work done by more junior team members, including method, arithmetic, and overall reasonableness and approach taken.

Developing a full awareness of our procedures and ensuring these are followed when checking and reviewing work.

Demonstrating good working knowledge of current legislation and awareness of proposals that may impact your clients. You should be able to discuss current issues with junior team members and flag potential issues to the client lead or client partner.

Monitoring weekly internal news bulletins containing industry and legislative updates.

Taking ownership of compliance matters and ensuring they are completed correctly and promptly.

Developing an in-depth understanding of the client''s rules, nuances, and practices, and being aware of current issues impacting benefit structures and administrative processes. Any issues should be flagged with the relevant client lead or client partner.

Serving as a day-to-day contact for clients, ensuring their satisfaction with the service provided.

Supporting the development of junior team members, assisting with work management, and delegating work appropriately considering both fees and experience.

Updating your team leader on resourcing needs and anticipating work peaks.

Assisting with mentoring junior team members through exams as appropriate.

Building in-depth knowledge of our pensions administration database and suggesting efficiencies as needed.
