Mechanical Engineer Temporary (12 Weeks) Location: Hartlepool Sector: Chemical Manufacturing (COMAH) Contract: PAYE Duration: 12 weeks Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide interim support at their COMAH-regulated chemical manufacturing site in Teesside. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining mechanical safety, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness during a transition period. Key Responsibilities Monitor condition of rotating and static equipment Support preventative and corrective maintenance activities Prioritise high-risk maintenance backlog items Ensure compliance with PSSR, PUWER and LOLER Liaise with inspection bodies Supervise contractors and review RAMS Support asset preservation and restart planning Update equipment records and contribute to engineering handover documentation Requirements Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering Experience within COMAH chemical manufacturing Strong knowledge of pressure systems and rotating equipment Familiarity with CMMS systems Ability to operate independently in reduced staffing environments ..... full job details .....
