Tradewind Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a number of Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools across Northampton, who are actively seeking Level 1 Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated teams.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of additional needs
• Assisting teachers in the delivery of tailored learning programmes
• Supporting the development of social and communication skills
• Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
• Using strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour

Requirements:

• A genuine interest in working with children with special educational needs
• Patience, empathy, and resilience
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
• Previous experience in a care or education setting (formal or informal) is advantageous
• A Level 1 qualification in a relevant subject (or willingness to work towards one)
