JR359: Multi Skilled Carpenter

Salary: £41,371 Per Annum

Overview:

First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking a Multi Skilled Carpenter to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out repairs, maintenance and adaptations within the Building Division, providing a professional and high-quality service to customers while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carry out a range of repairs and maintenance works, including hanging doors, fitting and overhauling locks, window repairs, flooring repairs, kitchen units, fencing and patch plastering.
• Undertake minor plumbing repairs, including taps and WC cisterns.
• Carry out wall tiling, bath panel fitting, pipe ducting and casing, and other associated multi-trade tasks.
• Complete all work to contract specifications, within agreed timescales and to a high standard.
• Identify and report any issues where contract specifications or deadlines may not be achieved.
• Work independently or as part of a team of skilled tradespeople.
• Accurately measure materials and estimate time required for assigned work.
• Complete relevant paperwork, timesheets and computer records accurately and on time.
• Maintain tools, equipment and vehicles to a high standard and report any defects or incidents.
• Maintain vehicle stock levels to support a right-first-time service.
• Comply with all health and safety requirements and company policies.
• Provide a professional and customer-focused service to residents and clients.
• Undertake additional trade duties where competent and appropriately trained.

Skills and Qualifications:

• City & Guilds qualification or time-served tradesperson.
• Minimum 2 years'' experience in repairs, maintenance or construction.
• Full clean driving licence.
• Good understanding of verbal and written instructions.
• Strong commitment to delivering high-quality work and customer service.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work at height and undertake physically demanding duties, including walking, lifting and loading/unloading vehicles.
• Willingness to undertake further training and development.
• Understanding and commitment to equality and diversity.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, customers and other parties.
• Working at Height, Manual Handling or First Aid training is desirable.
