SEN Teacher

Permanent | Full-Time | -34,069 - -50,956 (M1-UPS2) | 40 hours per week

A specialist independent school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed SEN Teacher to join its dedicated team.

The school provides highly personalised education for young people aged 6-19 with complex additional needs, including PMLD, MLD, SLD, autism, ADHD, sensory needs and associated difficulties.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about specialist education and wants to make a genuine difference to the lives and future outcomes of young people with additional needs.

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised and high-quality learning.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Adapt the curriculum to meet the individual needs of learners.
• Work closely with therapists, support staff and other professionals.
• Assess, record and report on student progress.
• Contribute to curriculum development and whole-school improvement.
• Lead and support teaching assistants and other adults within the classroom.
• Support students with sensory, communication and behavioural needs.
• Potentially support with physical intervention and personal care routines.

The successful candidate will have:

• QTS, PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• A strong understanding of the Teachers'' Standards.
• Experience or knowledge of working with students with SEN.
• A genuine passion for specialist education.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• The ability to adapt teaching to individual needs.
• Good attention to detail when assessing and tracking progress.
• The confidence and leadership skills to effectively support other adults in the classroom.

Experience of sensory-led curriculums or working within a specialist SEN setting would be highly beneficial.

• Permanent, full-time position.
• Salary of -34,069 - -50,956, depending on qualifications and experience.
