The RoleThe Senior Financial Accountant is a key position in the finance team responsible for leading the technical accounting, tax support and audit management for the finance team. You will oversee several operations within the company’s financial control and reporting function. Further responsibilities include:
Research and preparation of technical accounting memos to support accounting treatment for new and existing areas, when required by auditors or third parties.
Prepare monthly tax accounting entries and balance sheet reconciliations, including review of analysis and disallowable expenses.
Ensure the timely and accurate submission of annual tax computations.
Prepare tax information regarding investments.
Support the finalisation and review of the month-end reporting pack, specifically the technical aspects, including consolidation adjustments, review of balance sheet reconciliations and reporting controls.
Ensure an efficient audit process and assist with the preparation of financial statements.
Focus on process improvement in existing and new finance areas as the team and company continue to grow.
Support the wider business in ad-hoc projects in line with our growth strategy.
What You’ll Bring
5+ years of experience in a similar role in industry.
Tax, financial accounting, and reporting exposure.
Qualified ACA/ACCA
Experience prioritizing financial deliverables with a strong control mindset.
Advanced Excel skills
Previous experience mentoring or coaching junior team members.
Proven ability to build and manage relationships within finance teams and other stakeholders throughout the business e.g. legal and HR.
High attention to detail with the ability to adapt to competing demands and priorities.
Desirable
Experience using financial accounting software, Oracle NetSuite, Workiva
Strong interest in supporting colleagues in understanding more technical elements of accounting
