Who We''re Looking For - Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
We''re seeking a compassionate, proactive and emotionally intelligent graduate who is ready to commit to a meaningful role in special education.
You should: Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
- Hold a 2:1 degree or higher in a relevant subject (e.g., Psychology, Education, Child Development, Social Work)
- Be a confident communicator, able to build trust with pupils, staff, and families
- Show resilience and patience, especially when supporting challenging behaviours
- Be genuinely passionate about working with children with additional needs and considering a future in SEN teaching, child psychology, therapy, or social care
Your Role as a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
As part of the classroom support team, you''ll work closely with teachers and therapists to provide tailored, meaningful support.
Day-to-day responsibilities include: Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
- Delivering 1:1 and small group support for students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Assisting in adapting lesson materials to meet pupils'' specific learning goals
- Supporting communication systems such as PECS, Makaton, and visual schedules
- Aiding students with emotional regulation and behaviour management
- Recording progress and contributing to pupil development reviews
