The Implementation Specialist, Technical Support will manage their own portfolio of journals and partner with Publishing teams to run journals in a ‘Production-ready’ way, while facilitating submit-to-accept workflows and ensuring compliance with policies. In collaboration with the Manager, Technical Support and the wider team, you will centralise and communicate on the resolution of technical issues affecting all systems GPO uses, manages or supports. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.Responsibilities

Journal care: gather system requirements from publishers, editors and service providers; set up, maintain and administer peer review systems; conduct presentations and training sessions; ensure quality of article-level activities; act as an escalation point for individual journals; maintain journal-specific records and documentation.Tech Support: assess, resolve and/or escalate new technical issues; communicate with stakeholders on issues, impact and fixes; collaborate with Systems Optimisation and Automation and Analysis teams to address recurring issues and enable bulk resolutions.Other Responsibilities: advocate for continuous improvement, quality and efficiency; foster openness and collaboration within the team and with stakeholders.Experience, Skills and Qualifications

EssentialContributing to (sometimes interconnected) business projects.Working with a wide range of global stakeholders.DesirablePrevious experience in a publishing and/or support role.Business analysis and data analysis.Skills and KnowledgeA technically minded approach to solutions; ability to translate business needs into new projects; understanding of publishing workflows.Excellent organisation, written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate with individuals at all levels globally.Excellent numeracy and attention to detail; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.Good problem solving/logic/analytical skills; proactive and able to lead projects independently or as part of a team.QualificationsDegree or equivalent work experience.Formal project management qualification such as PRINCE2 desirable.Company Information
