We''re working with a well established manufacturing business who are looking to appoint an Engineering Project Manager to lead the delivery of major engineering projects across their Milton Keynes and Bedford sites.

This is a senior project role with responsibility for managing multiple projects simultaneously, from initial concept and design through to installation, commissioning and handover.

You''ll work closely with Operations, Technical, Commercial and NPD teams, while managing contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

The role

You''ll take ownership of a range of engineering projects across the UK sites, covering everything from new equipment installations through to mechanical, electrical, process, utilities and building projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing multiple complex engineering projects from concept through to completion
• Developing project scopes, budgets, timelines and capex proposals
• Managing tender processes and appointing contractors and suppliers
• Working with internal teams to establish design criteria for new equipment and plant
• Completing pre-studies and engineering design reviews
• Managing contractors and overseeing works on live manufacturing sites
• Managing mechanical, electrical, process, building and M&E elements of projects
• Maintaining regular communication with stakeholders and providing project updates to senior leadership
• Managing project spend, purchase orders, invoicing and project documentation
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, to specification, on time and within budget
• Managing changes and maintaining site CAD layouts
• Maintaining accurate site diaries and records throughout project delivery
• Supporting sites with engineering and technical issues where required
• Ensuring projects are successfully handed over to the relevant site teams

About you

We''re looking for an experienced Engineering Project Manager with at least 5 years'' project management experience, ideally gained within a manufacturing or production environment.

You''ll ideally have:

• A degree in Engineering or equivalent engineering experience
• At least 5 years'' experience managing engineering projects
• A strong hands-on engineering background within manufacturing
• Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
• Experience managing contractors and installation works on live production sites
• Experience across equipment installation, mechanical, electrical, process, utilities and/or building projects
• Strong understanding of project budgets, timescales and scope
• Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of CDM 2015
• Recognised project management and safety qualifications would be advantageous
• Experience within food manufacturing or another regulated manufacturing environment would be beneficial

Most importantly, you''ll be a strong people person with the confidence to communicate effectively across all levels of a business.

You''ll be comfortable dealing with contractors, suppliers, engineers, site teams and senior stakeholders, able to build strong working relationships while still holding people accountable for delivering the required standards.

The role will suit someone who enjoys a mixture of office and site-based work and is happy getting stuck in when required.
