The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, fault finding, and emergency repair of production machinery, utilities, and site infrastructure. The role requires a strong focus on food safety, hygiene, and Health & Safety compliance, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous production.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production and packaging equipment
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and complete effective emergency repairs
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and basic PLC faults
• Maintain cold storage, blast freezing equipment, boilers, air compressors and refrigeration systems
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with food safety, hygiene and legal standards
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and support internal and external audits
• Coordinate and supervise external contractors working on site

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and reliable maintenance professional with experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.

Essential skills and experience:

• Mechanical or electrical maintenance experience within manufacturing or food production
• Refrigeration knowledge, including cold rooms and freezers (F-Gas systems such as R404A / R448A preferred)
• Experience maintaining boilers and compressed air systems
• Basic PLC knowledge (Siemens or Mitsubishi preferred)
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Desirable qualifications:

• Level 2/3 Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Electrical Installation qualification (18th Edition)
• F-Gas certification
• Forklift Truck (FLT) licence
• Mandarin language skills (advantageous but not essential)

Additional Information
