Aircraft Structural Mechanic

Job Opportunity: Aircraft Structures Technician / Sheet Metal WorkerThis role is crucial within the engineering team, focusing on the structural maintenance and modification of aircrafts.Location: Birmingham Shift pattern: Monday - Thursday (days), 10 hour shiftsKey Duties and ResponsibilitiesCarry out modifications and maintenance in accordance with approved drawings and maintenance data, taking full accountability for the technical integrity of all work performed. All tasks will be assigned by the Lead Technician or B1 Engineer. You will be expected to provide regular updates on any issues affecting the work plan, including proposed solutions or recommendations where applicable. Any unsafe conditions must be promptly reported to the Lead Technician or B1 Engineer, as well as through the appropriate internal reporting channels.Complete strip/removal of major structural aircraft equipment.Interpret technical manuals, technical drawings, and regulatory requirements.Installation of complex structural assembliesWorking to fine tolerances and high standardsUse sealants, various fasteners, bonding techniques as per technical standardsMaintain the highest standards of tool control within the work area.Maintain a safe and clean working environment.Skills and AbilitiesCompleted an engineering apprenticeship - ideally in Aeronautical engineering or military equivalentIdeally 2 years live aircraft sheet metal/structural experiencePrevious aircraft production experiencePrevious ..... full job details .....
