Turner and Townsend is seeking a Senior Cost Manager for Real Estate to deliver end-to-end cost management services, ensuring client objectives are met through effective cost management and project delivery.Responsibilities
Perform the role of Commission Manager, taking responsibility for end-to-end service deliveryEnsure client objectives are met through the delivery of an effective cost management serviceLead and coach junior staff, allocate roles and responsibilities to ensure effective cost management on all projectsAdvise clients on feasibility studies and procurement optionsManage estimating and cost planning stages, including presenting the final cost plan to the clientTendering and procurement management, including pre-qualification, tender lists, preliminaries, tender analysis, tender reports and compiling contractual documents; utilise The Hive, eTender Platform and related toolsAct as contract administrator, address post-contract cost variances and change control processes, escalating major changes as neededTake responsibility for peer reviewing cost allowances and performing valuations on larger projects to ensure timely, accurate cost checking and valuationProduce monthly post-contract cost reports via the Cost Control App and present to the clientInput into value engineering; negotiate and agree final accountsInterface with client, Project Manager and other consultants at all project stages; collaborate with Turner and Townsend’s project management teamLead a cost management team where appropriateUtilise bespoke digital cost management tools and services (The Hive, Benchmarking App, CostX, Market Rates App, eTender Platform, Cost Control App)Implement Embodied Carbon Calculator to produce carbon footprint reportsSupport the execution of the NewLeaf strategyManage internal fees, internal job costing and resourcing requirementsMarketing And Business Development
Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and report opportunities to the appropriate line managerDevelop and maintain a professional network of peers and potential clientsLead bid submissionsIdentify ways to improve cost management procedures, templates and productsParticipate in extracurricular activities, networking and CPD eventsInternal Management Accountabilities
Knowledge management – ensure key information and learning from each commission is entered into the internal databaseProcess improvement – identify improvements to internal systems and processesLead the support, development, and mentorship of junior staffManage projects on D365Reporting
Senior Cost Manager typically reports to an Associate Director, Project Director or Director, depending on context.Key Performance Indicators
